Elena had grown up in a small village on the plains, where hunting was the main source of food and entertainment. Showing promise with both bows and crossbows, her parents had encouraged the skill, especially seeing how she had enjoyed it. Once she had entered into her early adult years, Elena decided that the humdrum life of a standard village hunter wouldn’t do and signed up for her first job as a mercenary.
Figuring she would need to fight much like the others to make it through, she originally wielded a shield and warhammer. However, her skill set was not attuned to that, and she nearly died in her first fight. A massive scar that starts from the top of her left eye straight down to her jaw was her reward for just doing things ‘the normal way’, and she only survived the job because of a hand crossbow she had on her. From then on, she decided that wasn’t the kind of fighting style for her.
After a few successful jobs and a bit of renown, mainly around her absolute sticking to any contracts she signs up for, she soon became a co-founder of a mercenary company known as ’Narth’s Knives’. The owner and main founder was a man named Narth, who believed that he and the others could find themselves plentiful riches with their skills. However, after a job where Narth had been in grave danger, he abandoned them all. Elena has kept the name of the company, and if she ever runs into Narth again, will shoot him on sight. For now, earning more renown and pushing her skills further and further to test is her goal.
